Locals and visitors alike enjoy Kailua and Lanikai Beach on a daily basis. We love its white sands, turquoise waters, and gorgeous island views. It's a place that we all use, we all take pride in, as it supports our community and makes our town unique. Unfortunately, human impact is inevitable whether it be from beachgoers, fishermen, or junk drifting in from other waters. Kailua Beach needs continual maintenance, cleanup and preservation.

On Saturday June 18, 2005 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Kailua Sailboards & Kayaks sponsored a Kailua Beach Cleanup. All those who participated won gifts from various local merdchants and also a half-day kayak rental from Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks.

We all had fun cleaning the beaches. Special thanks to the Boy Scouts Troop 149 from Honolulu.
